September 2005

Every Thursday Drew and I go to Mommy and Me. His favorite part is going down the slide backwards! We are there for 45 minutes and that always seems to be enough, he is always asleep in the car on our way home! Drew and I also started our own mommy and me group in Marina Del Rey. I posted an ad on craigslist looking for other stay at home moms to go on walks with. We lucked out and had two other moms with boys around Drews age write back. We have met up twice at the park and Drew loves spending time with them. Thanks to the suggestion of one of those moms we just recently bought a BOB SUV stroller. It is a runner/outside living stroller. We have already tested it on the sand at the beach and it works well. I have a feeling Drew will be spending a lot of time in it. Drew is about 6 1/2 months now and is on his hands and knees rocking back and forth. He is scooting backwards and desperately wants to crawl. He is really into the babbling and Brian and I wake up to hear him talking to his stuffed animals in the morning. Brian thinks he’ll be saying “da da” soon I say “ma ma” first:>
Well Brian FINALLY taught me how to udate Drews site so I plan on doing it all the time:>

Drew loves taking baths! He splashes everywhere!

Drew started eating rice cereal two weeks ago. This is a pic of the first time having it. Lets just say he loves making a mess with his food, wait till we get to the real messy stuff. I picture spaghetti on the wall!

Here is Drew in his new BOB stroller (its a running/beach stroller) at the park we walk in everyday!

Drew and I met Brian at Yahoo! and walked across the street to have lunch at MTV, sorry no reality star sightings.

Ok, I know I am going a little crazy today with my postings. I promise this is my last one for the day. I am officially addicted! Sorry can’t help it:> Anyway, this is Drew at Brian’s desk working away!

Drew had a big day today. We thoroughly wore him out. He started the day with Amy at mommy and me class, which is pretty much gymnastics for babies. He had fun because the witches of Beverly Hills weren’t there to spoil the fun, AND he made a new friend – she’s six months old too (a lot of the kids in the class are about a year).

After that we took him to the doctor for his six month check in. Drew weighed in at a little over 17 lbs (75th percentile), and the doctor says he couldn’t be healthier. He’s even advanced in how he can get up on his hands and knees and support himself;but we already knew that! At the end they gave him two more shots and his face turned bright red and he screamed, but I think mom was once again more scarred than he was.

Then at the end of the day Amy and I took him to the Marina for an hour at sunset. Even though we got yelled at for bringing brewskies, it was fun. By the time we got home Drew was totally passed out.

Drew is six months today! He has a doctors appt tomorrow. I’ll give you an update on weight and height:) Any guesses?

He is amazing us everyday, he is now sitting in his stroller facing out (no longer in the carrier) and starting to get on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. Soon, he’ll be crawling!

Now that we are settled in Marina Del Rey Drew and I have a routine of walking in the marina and beach everyday. But Drew would rather go to Costco or the grocery store. He is SO SOCIAL! He loves to talk and grab at people. Unfortunately Drew hasn’t learned his “inside voice” and is really loud (might be a “Felt” thing-have you ever talked to my mom in a social setting, she can be loud! :) ) Drew and dad take walks along Venice Beach every Saturday, and he is out by the time he gets home! lots of people there.

On Thursday Drew and I go to a Mommy and Me class in Beverly Hills! It is a gym that has lots of mats, bars and trampolines. He loves it. He watches all the other kids crawl and walk, they are great role models for him. I on the other hand am still working on making the friend thing, most of the moms there are much older than I am or their nannies come with the kids. Drew and I might try a new place in October.

Speaking of October…Drew already has his Halloween costume! We’ll leave that for a surprise.

Drew is a very happy boy and we can’t wait to see what the next 6 months will be like! Happy Birthday Drew! Take a look at the pics form the last six months.

Passed out in Santa Monica…
